And this is why we came!

We started our actual anniversary day with a wonderful breakfast of eggs and bacon cooked by Mindy. We didnt realize until today that eggs are rare in Placencia. We went to two different grocery stores and a few farmer markets and no one had any. There might be some available tomorrow, we'll see 😃.

While shopping at the local farmers market we decided to get some ingredients to make pico de gallo, and some chips before heading down to the beach for a swim.

We ate our chips under the shade of our palapa before hitting the water.

The fresh veggies were amazing. After we finished our snack it was time to enter the wonderfully warm waters and play around for a while. To avoid getting sunburned we didn't stay in that long, but it was quite refreshing.

The best part of our day was definitely dinner. We made reservations for tonight at 7 o'clock at a place called the Turtle Inn. This unique and high class resort in town offers a beachside dinner for an additional $25 US over the price of the food. This special dinner turned out to be beyond all of our expectations. When we approached we saw the table surrounded by tiki torches

and in front of the table, flowers in the shape of a heart and our initials in the middle made from leaves.

We were welcomed by our own personal server who gave Mindy a bouquet of tropical flowers that smelled amazing.

We were then given our menus and time to look over the literrally 20 pages of food and drinks to choose from. To avoid over eating we decided to share an appetizer and a main dish. The appetizer we chose was the lobster raviolis which were amazing. The main dish we chose was chicken risotto which was also amazing.  Both dishes were expertly prepared and quite filling.

It turned out sharing was a wise choice as we were quite full but we weren't done yet. We had to try the desert which was warm chocolate cake and gelato.

This was served to us with a sparkler and glasses of champagne for us to toast to the most wonderful 25 years we could have ever imagined of being married together.  Overall we spent about two hours on the beach just enjoying each other's company and the incredible ambience that was part of our dinner.  Big huge thanks to Laura from Caribbean Cabanas for the great recommendation, I can't imagine a better way to celebrate this wonderful occasion.
