We Made It!!!

It was a long first day filled with adventurous fun!!!  We started with the traditional PDX pic of the carpet.

After boarding the flight, Mark caught a beautiful view of the Columbia Gorge and we think Mt. Hood, but not sure because there wasn't a lot of snow.

I was able to take a nap, but Mark was in the middle seat and watched something on his iPad.  We arrived in Dallas/Fort Worth to a slight delay and finally boarded to Belize. Arriving in Belize a City, it was very muggy as we stepped out onto the Tarmac.  We are not used to that at all!!! 😳

We of course got in the slowest line, but funny the couple right behind us was also celebrating their 25th anniversary and their anniversary is also the 7th of July.  Talk about fun!!! The Belize airport was interesting.  You have to be careful as with a lot of places I'm sure.  I think we got taken for about $20, but what can I say, live and learn.  After a long wait in the very hot and stuffy Belize City airport, we finally boarded our little puddle jumper flight to Placencia.

Picture out our window in the prop plane to Placencia.

What fun!!! Mark got to be the CoPilot.

In the little prop plane we were never more than about a football field above the surface of the Earth, and the pilot did a better job with his landings than the American Airlines pilot.

So after being picked up by Dave, the owner of the Cabanas, we arrived and are so thrilled with our choice of destinations.

We even got our name on their greeting board!!! We had to take a couple selfies and we enjoyed some local food!

We are having an amazing time so far!!!  Love everyone and we will keep you informed of our adventures! Until later Buenas Noches!
